Current Implementation Status

New Zealand formally transitioned from the Australian National Standardised terminology and definitions for texture modified foods and thickened liquids to IDDSI in January 2019.  IDDSI is supported nationally by New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association, New Zealand Dietitian's Association, Health & Disability Commission, and all large residential care providers.  Many thanks to the New Zealand IDDSI Working Group for guiding a successful IDDSI implementation.
